Hello! My name is Emily, and I’m a student in Columbus, Ohio. I was born in Canada, but I’ve gone to school in the United States.
I read a lot in my free time – as well as in classes – and this blog will serve as a public way to share my analyses and thoughts about popular (and less so) works of prose, poetry, and song.
I’ve kept journals in the past where I both write my own work and analyze the work of others, but I’ve decided to go public as a way of practicing being comfortable sharing my work with others. Instead of sharing work with one or two people, I’m ripping off the bandaid and putting it out there into the internet nothingness!
As I’m facing the college admissions process, I’ve decided I should keep track of my thoughts on these things, as a way to account for all of the work I’ve accomplished in high school, like a portfolio.
I’ll be posting my own poetry, literary essays, as a reflection of the work I’ve accomplished in high school. In short, this blog won’t be devoted to one specific kind of work, but a more broad mixture of the kinds of works I find myself drawn to.
